Your Song – Flagship Program
With middle school students in the Bronx, NY
For over 20 years, acclaimed educator and musician Paul Josephs has led Your Song, a dynamic 12-class workshop guiding students through the full process of creating original, professionally produced music.
Designed for middle school, high school, and adult learners, Your Song combines songwriting, beat-making, and audio production with personal storytelling and cultural reflection. Students craft lyrics, record vocals, and produce beats—often using sounds from their environment—culminating in a fully mixed and mastered track that is uniquely their own.
Each student receives:
A high-quality audio master of their song
A custom USB card containing the track
A MetroSonics Arts diploma and certificate of completion
Classes are conducted in fully equipped studios or with a mobile production lab that includes Ableton Live, industry-standard plugins (Omnisphere, Kontakt, Waves, SoundToys), MIDI controllers, and real instruments. The experience can be delivered in-school, online, or as part of retreats, intensives, or international residencies.
Your Song not only teaches technical skills—it builds confidence, teamwork, and creative agency. Students walk away with a sense of ownership, accomplishment, and the tools to create at a professional level.
